Before that I amunsure of origins. My mother's maiden name is Burnside, her mothers name was Georgia AnneBurnside, her mother was Margaret Sanders, my mothers father was Albert Burnside. My fatherwas Josephus Keeble, his father was Capus Keeble, my fathers mother was Gertrude Jackson. Interms of racial origins it has been a unclear journey. At first we thought we had native americanadmixture only to find after the dna sampling there is none. The results show that I am 39% Indo-European and 61% African. Unfortunately the tests do not break down portions any smaller thanthe ones I've quoted. So what does Indo-European mean? It could mean anything from Irish toGreek. I suppose this is the weak link in dna testing, one really never gets the entire story. Most ifnot all info is based upon what was passed down orally from your family. If that wasn't accuratethan you really have only the vague description provided from the testing. It has had it'sinteresting points in terms of others replies to my posting. Some have said that my mtdna isEthiopian, others that I have at least one mutation that is ancient Roman. When I use theconcordance I come up with everything from Turkish to Algerian. At any rate, the African is aknown, but what tribe? What area of the continent? I don't know her ethnic origin. Family story is herparents died in a train accident when she was young. She had a brother and they were raised byan Aunt and Uncle. I can only assume this was in Arkansas. I have been able to trace her fromSedgwick Co., Arkansas when she married by Great-Grampa Lyon, William Elsworth Lyon toCrittenden Co., Poinsett Co. and Clay Co., Arkansas to Washington. I don't have names for herbrother that died young or her parents or Aunt and Uncle. I hope to find a DNA match andthrough our match maybe I can find her ancestors.
