Compliance Requirements [40 CFR 60.4243]1. The <strong>Permit</strong>tee operating a stationary SI ICE manufactured after July 1, 2008, and mustcomply with the emission standards specified in the applicable regulation in items 1through 4 <strong>of</strong> Table C above, shall comply by purchasing an engine certified to theemission standards in §60.4231(a) through (c), as applicable, for the same engine classand maximum engine power. The <strong>Permit</strong>tee shall also meet the requirements asspecified in 40 CFR Part 1068, subparts A through D, as they apply. If the <strong>Permit</strong>teeadjusts engine settings according to and consistent with the manufacturer's instructions,the stationary SI internal combustion engine will not be considered out <strong>of</strong> compliance.2. The <strong>Permit</strong>tee shall also meet one <strong>of</strong> the requirements specified in III.D.2.a and b <strong>of</strong> thissection:a. If the <strong>Permit</strong>tee operates and maintains the certified stationary SI ICE andcontrol device according to the manufacturer's emission-related writteninstructions, the <strong>Permit</strong>tee shall keep records <strong>of</strong> conducted maintenance todemonstrate compliance, but no performance testing is required.b. If the <strong>Permit</strong>tee does not operate and maintain the certified stationary SIinternal combustion engine and control device according to the manufacturer'semission-related written instructions, the engine will be considered a noncertifiedengine, and compliance shall be demonstrated according to III.D.2.b.ithrough iii <strong>of</strong> this section, as appropriate.i. Stationary SI ICE less than 100 HPThe <strong>Permit</strong>tee operating a stationary SI internal combustion engine lessthan 100 HP shall develop a maintenance plan and keep records <strong>of</strong>conducted maintenance to demonstrate compliance and shall, to theextent practicable, maintain and operate the engine in a mannerconsistent with good air pollution control practice for minimizingemissions.
