Advanced DrillingControl Systems

The Most Relied-upon Drilling Controls in the Field TodayControls for anydrilling projectMore Cameron blowout preventers are inuse today than all other brands combined. So no other supplier is more qualified thanCameron Controls to provide BOP controlsystems for any drilling application.Subsea multiplexed (MUX) electrohydraulicBOP control systems CameronControls subsea MUX drilling controlsystems combine modular, field-provencomponents with dual-redundant electronicsto provide the rapid actuation requiredfor BOPs operating in deep water. Thecompact, lightweight subsea module isdesigned for easy retrievability, andcertified for 10,000 feet.Piloted subsea hydraulic BOP controlsystems For subsea wells in shallowerdepths, our direct hydraulic and pilotedhydraulic control systems deliver superiorBOP control at an economical cost.Land and platform hydraulic BOP controlsystems Drilling companies around theworld continue to look to CameronControls for reliable direct hydraulic landand platform systems.Your BOP is only as reliable as the splitsecondresponse of the control systembehind it. Cameron installed the firstmultiplexed BOP control system in 1977,and that system is still in use today. Astrong statement to the performance, dependability and long-term value wedesign into every component. In fact, nodrilling control system is more reliable —or more relied upon — than those fromCameron Controls. The modular advantageDrilling control systems from CameronControls feature a modular design usingpre-engineered, field-proven components.Rather than designing new systemsfor every application, engineers atCameron Controls can examine the exactparameters of your drilling scenario, then configure our standard equipmentand components for your optimum solution. This approach and modular systemdesign results in numerous advantagesover other systems:Subsea retrievability without pullingthe riser Unlike any other system in theindustry, the modular design of theCameron Controls system allows thesubsea control pod to be retrieved andreplaced without pulling the riser stack.A huge savings in rig time and costs.Redundant system architectureComponent-level redundancy, exclusiveto Cameron Controls, eliminates singlepointfailures. All critical system functionshave been engineered withmultiple back-ups for continuousoperation.Robust system components All drillingcontrol system components are preengineeredand field-proven for reliableperformance. All subsea components aredesigned for a water depth of 12,000 feet(3700 m), and certified for 10,000 feet(3000 m).Smaller and lighter Cameron Controlssubsea MUX drilling control systems arethe smallest and lightest in the industry— simplifying installation and retrieval,as well as conserving valuable rig spacefor revenue-enhancing equipment.Functionality Cameron Controls MUXsystems provide up to 112 hydraulicfunctions per subsea control pod.Interchangeability System equipmentis universal and interchangeable, allowingeasier maintenance, reduced confusionoffshore and minimizednon-productive time.Safety In addition to the designed-inredundancy, a fail-safe “dead man”function and acoustical back-up systemprovide added measures of safety toclose the BOP stack in an emergency.Typical Drilling Control System Timeline• Preliminary System Analyses – Preliminary AccumulatorSizing, RAM, Power, Communications, Hydraulic Shock• System Proposal Basis Documents• Equipment Proposal Basis Documents• Internal & External InterfaceIdentification & Management• Resource Verification & Allocation• QA/QC and HSE ProgramsCONTRACTAWARDOPERATOR DEVELOPMENTSYSTEMPROPOSAL CLARIFICATIONS & PRE-AWARD MEETINGSC A M S E R V A F T E R M A R K E TM A R K E T R E S E A R C HP E N D I N G D R I L L I N G C O N T R A C T & A W A R D2
