The overall trading volume reached 8,754 million shares andtrading values correspondingly amounted to VND241,696 billion, a 52% increase compared to the previous year, withan average trading value of VND967 billion per session. Notably, on December 14, 2010, trading volumes reached apeak of 110.95 million transferred stocks, worth VND2,263 billion. The liquidity of stocks was strongly improved due toa breakthrough in trading technology from the successful implementation of online trading to deal with a bottleneckin orders from securities companies. It improved the system’s processing capability to 1.5 million orders per session.29
