The rendezvous in Morrison
November 2012
Continued on page 4
Our annual fall cruise into the mountains was held
on Saturday, September 29. We met at the Conoco
station in Morrison, then convoyed up Coal Creek
Canyon to the Wondervu Café and had a great
lunch. After lunch, everyone was free to continue
their mountain trip in any direction they chose.

Notes from the October 20 Membership Meeting
The October Member Meeting was held at the On The Border Restaurant in Golden after lunch. There were 14
members in attendance. Rich Cikowski read the Secretary’s notes for Joanne Cikowski. The Treasurer’s Report was
read by Sara Garvais .
Old Business:
Sara also read Bruce Garvais’ summary of the Club Clash racing season. The standings for the racing season were as
follows: Our combined full team came in 6th out of 25. The five-person team came in 12th of 22. The Top Street
award on our team went to Matt Baker from the Northern Colorado GTO Association. The Best in Hot Rod Class
went to George Racz of the Classic GTO Association of Denver.
Many thanks to Lee Bogema for hosting last month’s member meeting at his home, which was enjoyed by all who
attended.
New business:
Shar asked members if we would like to make a holiday season donation to the Denver Rescue Mission. The “Yes”
vote was unanimous.
Larry Rich advised members on the plans for some of our members’ GTOs to be part of the Forney Transportation
Museum GTO Display event. Those members selected must have their vehicles to the Museum by October 30. A
total of 26 cars have been selected and they will be notified by email. Along with this, those selected will have free
admission into the Museum during the event and can host a party if so desired. Our club will also be able to display
our club banner.
Nominations for board members for the year 2013 were held. All current board members volunteered to stay on for
another term, so this motion was made and seconded.
Changes made included adding two event coordinators to help Rich Cikowski in this position. Chris Lewis and Art
Marshall will be those two.
Another change was for Bill Lewis and Chris Lewis to take over record-keeping and reporting for the Bandimere
Speedway Club Clash racing team.
Our Final Stop: The Ship Rock Grille at the
Red Rocks Park Amphitheater Visitor Center.
Some of our group ate lunch at this restaurant. Built
around two massive boulders both inside and on the patio,
the Ship Rock Grille featured a delectable menu and
stunning scenery. Unfortunately, due to the poor weather
that day our group was unable to enjoy a sunny meal on
the deck surrounded by breathtaking vistas and possibly
even some wildlife. After eating, we browsed around the
Visitor Center displays, which documented all the events
that had occurred and the performers who had appeared at
the amphitheater from its beginning to the present day.
Ian Lawrence walked down to the stage, then ran from
the bottom to the top of the amphitheater.
