Membership Benefits & ServicesAdvocacy & LobbyingIn <strong>2010</strong>, <strong>AmCham</strong> has consolidated its position as one of the most dynamic and effectivebusiness associations operating in <strong>Moldova</strong>, advocating on behalf of its numerousmembers to the <strong>Moldova</strong>n Government for positive changes and reforms, promoting inthis way a better business environment that would encourage both – placement of newcapital by the existing investment community, as well as the entrance of some new potentialinvestors into the market.Throughout <strong>2010</strong>, <strong>AmCham</strong> remained to be an active and engaged member of the GuillotineWorking Group for the regulation of business activity, by attending weekly meetingsof the group and constantly reviewing the draft legal and normative acts with animpact on business activity.<strong>AmCham</strong> has also joined the Consultative Council under the Ministry of Economy bringingsome valuable expertise and business knowledge of its members in the discussion ofeconomic policy with the main economic team of the country.<strong>AmCham</strong> continued militating for policy change and better business environmentthrough its active membership within National Confederation of Employers of the Republicof <strong>Moldova</strong>.As Corporate Social Responsibility remained to be one of the major priorities for Am-Cham membership, <strong>AmCham</strong> has continued its active involvement with the Local GlobalCompact Network.For the successful development of its Advocacy and Lobbying activities and striving tobecome a reliable partner for the <strong>Moldova</strong>n Government in tailoring some successful andtangible economic reforms, <strong>AmCham</strong> mobilizes its Board of Directors, Member Companies- leaders in different industry sectors, and experts from different non-governmental organizations.To make its advocacy effort more focused and efficient, <strong>AmCham</strong> continuouslyencourages the establishment of some new Committees under its coordination. Thus, atthe end of <strong>2010</strong>, besides its 3 existing Committees - Tax & Legal Committee, HR Committeeand CSR Committee, <strong>AmCham</strong> has supported the successful launch of a Financial ServicesCommittee, representing Microfinancing, Leasing and Banking industries.Throughout <strong>2010</strong>, <strong>AmCham</strong> team has worked further to maintain the existing relationshipsand develop some new valuable contacts amongst the highest government and legislativeauthorities to address the important areas of concern for <strong>AmCham</strong> membership.The existing constraints in investment activity had been identified by <strong>AmCham</strong> team bymeans of a special study.20A publication of the American Chamber of Commerce in <strong>Moldova</strong>
