16. FSTD Minimum UsagePURPOSE14 CFR Part 60 contains minimum use requirements for FSTD’s. This procedure defines theprocess for ensuring and documenting that at least one FSTD is used within [SPONSOR]FAA-approved flight training program once every twelve months. This process intends tosatisfy requirements found in §60.7(b)(5), (b)(6), (c), (d) and Appendix E, Table E1, ElementsE1.5, E1.6, and E1.7.SCOPEThis policy includes all FSTDs sponsored by [SPONSOR].RESPONSIBILITY_____ is responsible for maintenance and dissemination of this process; _______is/areresponsible for execution.POLICYEach sponsored FSTD must be used in an FAA-approved training program at least once everytwelve- (12-) month period. If not, a qualified pilot who has flown the aircraft or set of aircraft(as appropriate) during the preceding twelve- (12-) month period must complete and documenta performance and handling check of the FSTD. The pilot must sign a statement that theFSTD’s performance and handling qualities, within the normal operating envelope, representthe aircraft or set of aircraft described in the FAA Type Certificate and the type data sheet, ifappropriate.RECORDS RETENTIONThe two most current written statements must be retained for NSP review.Refer to 25.
