PROCEDUREThe MR, or the MR’s designee(s), will review the discrepancy log noting MMIs and anypossible training restrictions. An appropriate representative of the flight training organizationmay be consulted to determine whether the discrepancy is an MMI and what, if any, trainingrestrictions should be imposed on the basis of the discrepancy.RECORDS RETENTIONA list of all discrepancies on each FSTD with MMI components for the past two (2) years willbe kept.Refer to 25. 23. MMI Tracking and ReportingPURPOSEThis procedure defines requirements for reporting and tracking MMI components on an FSTD.It covers components determined to be MMIs (22. MMI Classification Policy) and intends tosatisfy requirements found in §60.25; Appendices A, B, C, and D section 18; and Appendix E,Table E1, Elements E1.31 and E1.33.g.1. Also reference FSTD Guidance Bulletin 08-01.SCOPEThis policy includes all FSTDs sponsored by [SPONSOR].RESPONSIBILITY_____ is responsible for maintenance and dissemination of this process; _______is/areresponsible for execution.PROCEDURE1. If the MMI discrepancy has been open for thirty (30) days, the MR or MR’s designee willreport the discrepancy to the NSPM in accordance with the guidance found in FSTDGuidance Bulletin 08-01. The request should be justifiable and include enough time tocorrect the problem.Note: The reporting requirement is only applicable to MMI component discrepancies that willremain uncorrected beyond thirty days of being recorded.2. Implied authorization from the NSP is given to continue operating the FSTD until theyrespond to the extension request (generally within five business days). It is expected that areasonable request for extension to correct MMI component(s) will be granted by theNSPM as long as appropriate training, checking, and testing restrictions have beenimposed.3. If additional extensions are required, repeat from step 1.4. Once the discrepancy has been corrected, the MR or MR’s designee must review thecorrective action, remove any training restrictions, and report the closure to the NSP inaccordance with FSTD Guidance Bulletin 08-01.RECORDS RETENTIONA list of all discrepancies on each FSTD with MMI components for the past two (2) years willbe kept.Refer to 25.
