146DIALYSIS TECHNICIANSThe law relating to regulating dialysis technicians was first passed in 2005. An emergency rulewas approved in 2005 and the final rule was approved in the 2007 legislative session. Thereare currently one hundred forty-four (144) active Certified Dialysis Technicians in WestVirginia. Temporary permits have been issued to sixty-nine (69) persons. Dialysis TechnicianTraining Programs are also underthe authority of the Board. Twenty-four (24) programs havebeen approved by the Board. Receipts forthe fiscal year 2008 total $42 1910.00. The first yearhad the highest amount of receipts because of the initial certification of all dialysis techniciansand the initial approval of training programs. The FY08 expenditures total $17,589.58. TheDialysis Technician Advisory Council, chaired by Board member Linda Williams, met twiceduring the past fiscal year. The members of the Advisory Council are listed below. A sectionof the Board's web site is dedicated to Dialysis Technicians.
