5.3 Integrate life-skills activities into theschool day.Why? Building life-skills prepares students for theopportunities that come with greater confidence and voice.The psychological environment at school is influenced by how everyonerelates to everyone else. In a Good School project, students are invitedto act and interact in ways they haven’t before. It therefore becomes ourresponsibility to provide them with life-skills for proceeding with confidenceand self-awareness. The Learning Process in this step includes activities forstudents about Team-Building and Cooperation, Respect and Responsibility,Self-Esteem and Values, Friendship and Relationships, and Gender and Self-Image. They are designed to be short and fun, while guiding students inbecoming responsible members of the school community.14
