Erato Chapter #295Greetings from Erato Chapter #295 in Calgary, Alberta. The beginning of the year seems to get busierand busier. We had a very successful AHEPA Family Brunch in September to begin our year. Our scholarshipswere presented at that time. Congratulations to Christina Devetzis and Demi Yannitsos on beingthe 2013 Scholarship winners. Both students are attending the University of Calgary. Following our Novembermeeting we had a jewellery party featuring one of a kind pieces made by Mary Adams, the daughterof one of our charter members. McKenzie Lake Beach Club was the venue for our AHEPA FamilyChristmas Party. Skating, tobogganing and sitting by the outdoor fire pit were the events of the day. Greatfood and good cheer was enjoyed by all. The children in attendance brought toys for Toy Mountain, a projectto collect toys for children less fortunate. This year we participated in the Seniors Secret Santa Programby adopting four seniors. A very rewarding feeling, supporting our seniors who are living independently.We are going to attempt an evening of belly dancing lessons in January… need to work offsome of those holiday calories. The focus in the New Year will be on our Charity Fun Casino in February.Thanks to our President Deb Chrisohou we now have our own chapter website.
