has been very sick with pneumonia,<br />

Miss Lula Swearingen is<br />

convalescing after a spell <strong>of</strong> lagrippe.<br />

Roy Mothershead was taken to<br />

Louisville Tuesday to be operated on.<br />

He had a severe case <strong>of</strong> lagrippe<br />

which settled in his head causing<br />

abscesses.<br />

W. T. Hall is ill at his home here with<br />

pneumonia.<br />

W. T. Carothers and Miss Rilla<br />

Thornberry were quietly married in<br />

Louisville, Wednesday Feb. 23rd.<br />

Mrs. Lou McGlaughlin died at her<br />

home here Wednesday morning,<br />

February 23, at the age <strong>of</strong> 56 years.<br />

She is survived by four children,<br />

Edward and W . D. Rice, Mrs. Minnie<br />

Haupt, and Harry McGlaughlin. Her<br />

burial took place the following day in<br />

the cemetery here.<br />

visited her daughters, Madams Lem<br />

Swearingen and Iley Jones.<br />

Duke Burch had some fine sheep<br />

killed by dogs recently.<br />

House at Frankfort voted 70 to 0 to<br />

grant a pension <strong>of</strong> $12.00 per month<br />

to all old confederate soldiers who<br />

have an income <strong>of</strong> less than $500 per<br />

annum.<br />

Mrs. Joseph H. Vaughn died<br />

February 15, <strong>1910</strong> at St. Anthony's<br />

Hospital in Louisville <strong>of</strong> stomach<br />

cancer. <strong>The</strong> former Selena Ruth<br />

Watson, daughter <strong>of</strong> the late Jos.<br />

Watson, <strong>of</strong> Athens, Ohio, was born<br />

December 26, 1848. She, with her<br />

parents, moved to Kentucky about<br />

1865. She was married to Joseph H.<br />

Vaughn February 3, 1870. Four sons<br />

and five daughters. Will and Harry<br />

Vaughn <strong>of</strong> Louisville, Warren S.<br />

Vaughn Jr <strong>of</strong> Cupio, Mrs. Jessie<br />

Stratton, Mrs. Georgia Megowan,<br />
