Uncle George Honnaker, who has<br />

been making his home with his<br />

brother in Florida, is at present with<br />

his niece, Mrs. Eunice Long.<br />

Our faithful physician, Dr. G. W.<br />

Kirk has been busy indeed since the<br />

dread disease, diphtheria has made its<br />

appearance in our midst. Antitoxin<br />

has been given to many who came in<br />

contact with the case developed.<br />

Several times recently there has been<br />

placed in our mailbox, sweet flowers,<br />

which bespeak the loving, thoughtful<br />

heard <strong>of</strong> our youthful mail carrier,<br />

Guy Hecker.<br />

Mrs. J. B. Walker left Saturday to<br />

join her husband in Denver, CO,<br />

where they expect to locate<br />

Mrs. Tom Melton went over to spend<br />

Friday with her brother-in-law, Dave<br />

Mothershead, the fork raised (Is this<br />

the Rolling Fork River ?) and she had<br />

to stay until Sunday.<br />

Mr. & Mrs. W. H. Cooper, Mrs.<br />

Monroe, <strong>of</strong> Shepherdsville, Dr. &<br />

Mrs. Arthur Bates, and Rev. Ben Cox<br />

dined with P. H. Brown's family<br />

Mrs. Chas. Ireland died at an<br />

infirmary in the city following an<br />

operation for the removal <strong>of</strong> a tumor.<br />

As Miss Betty Gailbreath, Mrs.<br />

Ireland was well known here before<br />

her marriage. She leaves a husband<br />

and three little children.<br />

We didn't know our own ignorance<br />

until the census enumerator came.<br />

She considerately excused us from<br />

giving the middle names <strong>of</strong> the<br />

children. Said if we could give the<br />

initial letter, it would suffice. We<br />
