<strong>2013</strong> Master <strong>Recipient</strong>Timothy T. Nostrant, MD, MACGDr. Nostrant is a Professor of Medicine in the Division ofGastroenterology at the University of Michigan. He received hisMD degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1973.All of his post-graduate training was completed at the Universityof Michigan. He has served in multiple administrative roles at theUniversity of Michigan, including Internal Medicine OutpatientChief, Outpatient GI Chief, Inpatient GI Chief, Endoscopy Director,and overall Division Chief. He has also served on multiple nationalcommittees in all three of the major GI societies (Research,Education, Nominating Committee, Patient Care, Credentialing andFellowship Training). In addition, he has served on the AmericanCollege of Gastroenterology (ACG) FDA Related Matters Committeeand was ACG Governor for Michigan from 1992-2011.He has also held multiple educational roles, including Fellowship Training Director andEducational Liaison to the Department of Internal Medicine.Dr. Nostrant has authored more than 100 peer reviewed articles, multiple review articles,50 book chapters, and 50 non-peer reviewed articles. He has received multiple local andregional awards, including Best Doctors (1995-present), Outstanding Clinician at theUniversity of Michigan (2009), Division of Gastroenterology Lifetime Achievement Award(2006), League of Clinical Excellence (2012-present), Paul de Kruif Lifetime AchievementAward, the American Gastroenterological Association Distinguished Clinician Award (2012)and the Timothy T. Nostrant, MD Collegiate Professorship at the University of Michigan(<strong>2013</strong>).His research/clinical areas of expertise include esophageal disease and inflammatorybowel disease. His current interests include global consulting in gastroenterology,education in risk management, documentation, and electronic medical records.30
