During their regular visitsthey noticed a greyhound Dash (Mal'sHonour) that was looking for a home.It was then that Di had the thought ofcombining her interests of web design andgreyhounds, and from that grew the GAPwebsite.Success came from the original design, the greyhound found a new home, with helpfrom the website, and Dash went on to live ina nursing home.As the website evolved new features wereadded and the page in its current form is apowerful and essential promotional tool forthe Greyhound Adoption Program.Di regularly gives up her valuable timevoluntarily to update articles and photographson the website and manage the site on a dailybasis.A large quantity of inquiries and adoptionsare a direct result of visitors to the website. The interest the site generates isenormous, and has helped find homes forhundreds of dogs, and educated many peopleabout the greyhound's nature. With three pet greyhounds at home, Diand her son Rick have an interest in the racingside of the industry as well. They have raced Polar Princess who wona couple of races for them, and currently havea greyhound named King Kissy and a SurfLorian pup that they are looking forward toracing in the future.Regulars at the Capalaba greyhound track,Di and Rick (pictured above) created awebpage for Capalaba, and more recently Dihas completed a website for Brisbane andRichmond Clubs in NSW.Her business known as Dinky Di webdesign has created pages for many greyhoundstuds and kennels. The number of visits to the GreyhoundAdoption Program website and commentsreceived about the site is proof that Di isleading the way with her web design.Dogs for Racing OverseasMust be under 26 monthsPh Steve Wilkes(07) 54230276 or 0427 319944The (November, 2006) Journal Page 24
