Content: basic features; navigating; text; character formatting, special text effects, using Word Art and clip art; paragraph/page formatting; tables. Microsoft Word (Level II) Prerequisite: Microsoft Word Level I. Content: review; advanced tables; desktop publishing; graphics; adding boxes and colour; using mail merge. Excel-Spreadsheet (Level III) Prerequisite: Microsoft Word Level II. Content: basics; navigating; cell ranges; text and numbers; editing changes; moving, copying and sorting data; columns and rows; changing the alignment of data in cells; calculations; formulas; column and pie charts. Learn how to customize your Windows computer so the text is big enough, essential free software (anti-virus, viewers, etc.) is installed, unessential software that came with your computer is removed, your default programs and behaviours (what program opens files) are set the way you want them. The object is to get your computer configured/set up so it is the most usable for you. FEES: Members $17 / non-members $26 LOCATION: CRM Computer Room - Richard Denesiuk Got a Camera and Computer What Do I Do now? 3833 10:00 – 12:00 noon February 29 – March 14 3 Wednesdays Prerequisite: Intro to Computers Level 2 or equivalent experience. Learn how to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer. Find out how to organize, edit, improve and print photos. Fabulous free software (Picasa) and our operating system (Windows 7) will be used. Learn techniques to improve your workflow and manage your picture collection. The emphasis will be on the computer and not the camera. Each student will have a computer to work on.
