Our journey to God still follows the Pathway of the Torah / Word. Like the oldAdam we need to go back to look / study the Water of this River that flowedout of the Garden of Eden. Today that river is the Word of God and theprompting of the Holy Spirit.The closer that you can get to the Source of Life in the six days of “work”, theeasier it will be for you to pass through the Portal into the Spiritual domain tospend time with God on the Shabbat.How is it possible that a gift from God, a Shabbat rest, can be so totallyrejected by the majority of the Body of Messiah?GOD THE HOLY KINGHoliness is an attribute, which combines power with humility. God is greatand Almighty but He shows no favouritism and He performs justice to all.Deuteronomy 10:17-18 “ 17 For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord oflords, the great, the mighty, the terrible God, Who is not partial and takes nobribe. 18 He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves thestranger or temporary resident and gives him food and clothing.Only those who truly have allowed His Law to be circumcised onto their heartswill always be ready to listen (Sh’ma) and do (a’sah) God’s Call to“remember” the Shabbat.God calls individuals to be a “Kingdom of priests and a Holy nation”.Immediately after the Exodus Moses takes the Israelites to Mount Sinai. Herethey witness (hear and see with an internal vision) God’s Words of theCovenant. They are challenged to a life of obedience.Exodus 19:3-8 “ 3 And Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him outof the mountain, Say this to the house of Jacob and tell the Israelites: 4 Youhave seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wingsand brought you to Myself. 5 Now therefore, if you will obey My voice in truthand keep My covenant, then you shall be My own peculiar possession andtreasure from among and above all peoples; for all the earth is Mine. 6 Andyou shall be to Me a kingdom of priests, a holy nation [consecrated, set apartto the worship of God]. These are the words you shall speak to the Israelites.7So Moses called for the elders of the people and told them all these wordswhich the Lord commanded him. 8 And all the people answered together,and said, All that the Lord has spoken we will do. And Moses reported thewords of the people to the Lord.We see a similar pattern in the New Testament. Yeshua challenges each oneof us to a walk of faith and obedience – He tells us: “You need to be doingwhat you see Me doing because I do what I see My Father (God) in Heavendoes.26
