2.22 Steps taken to strengthen the monitoring mechanism in the Block, Districtand Statelevel and status of constitution of SMCs at these levels. Status offormation on SchoolManagement Committee at village / school / cookingagency level in the light of Rightto Education Act, 2009.There is a District Level Monitoring Cum Steering Committee and theVillage monitoring Committee were constituted. Meetings of these Committeeshave been held and the members have been visiting schools and monitoring theMDM Scheme. Village Education Committee constituted in 11 Pateladsparticipating Gram Panchayat sarpanches and Gram Panchayat members,District Panchayat members who ground level supervised their jurisdictionunder MDM Scheme. District level, District Education Committee constitutedwith participation of Hon. Collector as a Chairman and other officers asmembers are nominated for steering-cum-monitoring & Evaluation of thescheme. They check the food prepared and record their opinion/suggestions ina register maintained at school level.2.23 Arrangement for official inspections to MDM centres and percentage ofschools inspected and summary of findings and remedial measures.The concerned A.E.O. (DP) and EO(Academic) inspected all the schoolsmonthly and submit the report. In all the schools MDM is regularly served. Thefood items supplied is of best quality. The meals are well prepared. Cleanlinessand hygiene is maintained in the kitchen. The foodgrains and other ingredientsare stored properly. Vegetables and other ingredients are supplied on time. InGovernment schools and Govt. Aided schools almost all students have takenmeals under MDM.The President(DP) / Vice President(DP) and the CEO(DP), EO(DP) visitthe schools frequently to monitor the programme and ensure good quality food.The Food and Nutrition Officer (Health Department) also visit schools to checkthe quality of food served.2.24 Feedback/comments in respect of report of Monitoring Institutionsdesignated for your State/UTs to monitor implementation of MDM andaction taken thereon.PTA/MTA and VEC members visit MDM centre and after checking thefood cooked at the centre express their satisfaction regarding the cookedmeals.
2.25 Grievance Redressal Mechanism if any, used by the States / UTs. Details ofcomplaints received, nature of complaints and time schedule for disposalof complaints.The UT has established a Grievance Redressal System at district level inthe office of the Education Officer(DP), Silvassa, schools are instructed tocontact the CEO/EO(DP)/A.O.(DP) and AEO(DP) for redressal of grievanceswhich are immediately attended to and issues resolved.2.26 Media campaign, if any.The implementation of the MDM Scheme in various schools of UT ispublished in local media newspapers like Hotline, Jansansar, Divyabhaskar etc.by publishing the photos of meals served under MDM .2.27 Overall assessment of the manner in which implementation of theprogramme is contributing to the programme objectives and an analysis ofstrengths and weaknesses of the programme implementation.There has been increae in enrolment and retention. Nutritional status ofthe students has improved. There has been increase in height and weitht.Academic performance has improved. Meals have been served regularlywithout any laps. Monitoring is being done at all levels. There is no complaintwhatsoever. All the schools have been serving the hot cooked meals to all thestudents under the scheme.In some schools the timing of serving meals is changed.The UT of Dadra and Nagar Haveli will have common working days forPrimary and Upper Primary schools. 220 working days and 127 non workingday. Funds released form UT Fund is paid for cooking cost to avoid delay.************************
