1.3 Process of Plan Formulation.The implementation of the Programme is being ensured by the VEC, PTA,MTA association and school management committees headed by the EducationOfficer(DP) including representatives of the Health Department and nutritionexperts/dieticians from the premier hospitals. Description and assessment of the programme implemented in the currentyear(2011-12) and proposal for next year (2012-13) with reference to:2.1 Regularity and wholesomeness of mid day meals served to children;reasons for programme interruptions, if any and planning to minimisethem.The U.T. of Dadra and Nagar Haveli Administration, Mid Day Meals havebeen served regularly to Primary and Upper Primary children as per thecooking menu decided by the VEC/PTA/MTA committees. The District Levelmonitoring Committees also visits Mid Day Meal centres to ensure goodquality of food.As an implementing authority, the Chief Executive Officer,Education Officer, A.E. Officers and BRCs /CRCs regularly visit all the MDMcentres. All children are served Mid Day Meals regularly in all Govt. AndGovt. Aided primary and upper primary schools. The hot cooked meals areprepared by engaging cook/helpers on Daily Wages basis every day for regularcooking process. There is no interruption to the scheme at any time. F.C.I riceis stored at Central Primary School and distributed thereafter as perrequirements.2.2 Coverage of children of NCLP schools as per upper primary norm. NCLPschools are primary schools but eligible for benefit as per upper primarynorm.There are no NCLP schools in UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli.2.3 Foodgrains management, including adequacy of allocation, timeliness oflifting,transportation and distribution, and suitability of storage atdifferent levels. Challengesfaced and plan to overcome them.The foodgrains are allocated through FCI by the concern Ministry of HRD,New Delhi which is lifted from FCI Depots through approved rate of transportagency and distributed to the schools as per their monthly requirement everymonth smoothly. The storage facilities of the foodgrains are made at schoollevel and centre level. Each school has been storing the foodgrains incontainers provided by the department after necessary cleanliness. Thetransportation is carried out by private transport agency and is monitored by thesupervisor (MDM) or Education Officer(DP). He lifts the foodgrains on timeand distributes to all MDM centres as per their requirement. The FCI has raisedbill for payment of foodgrains to the department and department has paid allbills to FCI Vadodara.
