Inventories at sea decreased by 2 millionbarrels to 915 million barrels, similarly Caribbeaninventories were down by 2 million barrels to 76million barrels.Commercial inventories in September 2011were down by 29 million barrels to 5307 millionbarrels – a level that is 151 million barrels lowerthan a year ago. Inventories covered 68.9 daysof forward consumption.Strategic inventories in OECD-30, SouthAfrica and China went down by 1 million bblsfrom the previous month to 1767 million barrels– a level that is 4 million barrels higher than ayear ago.Total world inventories, at the end of September2011 were at 7074 million barrels, representing adecrease of 30 million barrels from the previousmonth, and a decrease of 147 million barrelsfrom the same month a year ago.Usable commercial inventories decreasedby 30 million barrels to 1456 million barrels -covering 13.9 days of forward consumption.Table (9) in the annex and figure (7) showthe changes in global inventories prevailing atthe end of September 2011II.
