44Switch the answering machine on/off at pre-set times1. Press Menu. Scroll to Answer Machine. Press OK.Use Timed Answer to set up youranswering machine to be turned onand off at selected times.2. Listen to the voice prompt and after you hear the long beep,speak your memo. When you’ve finished, press Save.4. Your memo will be played back to you. If you want to delete it,press Delete during playback. If you wait for it to be playedback it will be saved.Call screeningWhen an incoming call is answered by the answering machine,Screening? will be displayed on the handset.To screen the call, press OK. To stop screening and let theanswering machine continue to take the call press End.Screening allows you to hear the caller talking to theanswering machine.This allows you to hear who is calling in case you want to interceptthe call and talk to the caller. 45Message playback via the handset1. Press Menu. Scroll to Answer Machine. Press OK.2. Play Messages is highlighted. Press OK.3. The display shows the number or name of the caller ifavailable, the date and time it was received and whether themessage is new (not been listened to) or old (already listenedto). The message is played automatically.During playback you have the following options:orDelete orStop orto hear the message through the handsetearpiece. Press to play back throughthe handset loudspeaker again.to adjust the volume.once to repeat the message.to play the next message.to delete the current message.Display shows Deleted.to stop playback.to cancel playback and return to standby.At the end of playback the handset will return to standby.The messages are renumbered to take account of any deletedmessages.Delete all old messages1. Press Menu. Scroll to Answer Machine. Press OK.2. Scroll to Delete Msgs and press OK.If there are no old (unplayed) messages, the display showsNo Old Msgs.If there are old messages the display shows Deleteold Messages? Press Yes to confirm or No to cancel.3. Press Back to return to the previous menu level.Answering machine messagesthat are not deleted areautomatically saved.Memory fullIf the caller’s still talking when thememory becomes full the callerhears “Thank you for calling” and themachine will hang up.You must delete messages beforeyour machine will be able to recordnew ones.
