Such harm is a violation of human rights andmay constitute a hate crime.A term encompassing the spectrum of abuse aimed atindividuals and groups based on their specific genderrole in society. It is experienced disproportionately bywomen and perpetrated predominantly by men and maymanifest itself in many ways. It includes all forms ofviolence including what was previously known asdomestic abuse, including same sex relationships,commercial sexual exploitation, harmful traditionalpractices, such as female genital mutilation, forcedmarriages and so-called “honour” crimes, sexualharassment, stalking and childhood sexual abuse.The Out of Hours Team provides a service for socialwork emergencies that take place out of office hours.The service is available outside normal office hours, i.e. -5.00pm to 8.50am Monday to Friday, all weekend andPublic Holidays.Tel: 08451 550099A “Health Professional” for the purposes of the AdultSupport and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 is (a) adoctor, (b) a nurse, (c) a midwife, or (d) any other type ofindividual described (by reference to skills, qualifications,experience or other use) by an order made by theScottish Ministers. The definition of doctor, nurse andmidwife is as specified under their respectiveprofessionals Acts, i.e. Medical Act 1983 and Nurses &Midwives Order 2001.These are any records, in any format, which relate to anindividual’s physical or mental health which have beenmade by or on behalf of a health professional inconnection with the care of the individual.A member of an advocacy service which operatesindependently of other service providers. Advocacy ofteninvolves speaking up for the individual, helping them toexpress their views and assisting them to make their owndecisions and contributions.
