St Dominic's Sixth Form College77. Lord, I notice many needy people; shy and awkward people, the down and outs, addicts, the old who are lonely and sick …. So many I can think of and picture. Bewith me, Lord, encourage me to help, give me sensitivity to notice and the courageto take a step nearer to people.78. Each of us can effect some change on the small corner of the globe in which we findourselves. The good I did yesterday – only I could have done it. The touch of sympathy, the helping hand, the voice for justice, the prayer I offered, the praise I sang –all my share in the work of God. Each day is to be a day for God. May I live each dayknowing that I have a part to play in the coming of God’s kingdom on earth. Lord, they kingdom come, may it come in me and through me.79. Prayer from Zimbabwe:80. God Be in My HeadOpen my eyes that they may see the deepest needs of people. Move myhands that they may feed the hungry; touch my heart that it may bringwarmth to the despairing; teach me the generosity that welcomes strangers;let me share my possessions to clothe the naked; give me the carethat strengthens the sick; make me share in the quest to set the prisonersfree; in sharing our anxieties and our love, our poverty and our prosperitywe partake of your divine presence.God be in my head, and in my understanding:God be in my eyes, and in my looking:God be in my mouth, and in my speaking:God be in my heart, and in my thinking:God be at my end, and at my departing.Osmond, Bishop of Sarum, AD 1078-109981.
