Lord, I acknowledge my sinfulness.I ask you to empower mewith your Holy Spirit, that I may resist temptationand “choose liferather than death”,- good rather than evil -in the ordinary circumstancesof my daily life. Amen.149. Lord, you are like a shepherd to me,and so I have all that I need. You give me restin meadows of green grass, and you lead me to waterwhere I gain new life and strength. You guide mealong the way that is best for me.Even when I walk in darknessand everything around seems like death, you are there, walking with me,and the promiseof your love and faithfulnesshelps to conquer my fear.In the sight of those who do me down, you invite meto sit at table with you. There you offer meeven more than I need, and you remind methat I am significant and special. You call me to goodness and kindnessevery day of my life, and your house will be my homemy whole life long.150. Lord, inspire me to live in such a waythat my choices each dayand my commitment to live in a positive waymay transformthe negative into something positive, and the ordinariness of daily lifeinto something extraordinary. Father, guide us, as you guide creation according to your law of love. Fill us withyour own generous love that we may find this love in each other and never resort toviolent language or actions.111. Prayer for the EarthGod our Creator,You have given us the earth,The sky, and the sea,Show us the way to care for the earthAnd not just for today but for future generations.Let no plan of ours endanger or destroy the beauty of your creation.Send us your Spirit to guide us as we care for the Earth.112. Lord, make me an instrument of your peace; where there is hatred let me sow love, where there is injury let me sow pardon, where there is doubt let me sow faith, where there is despair let me give hope, where there is darkness let me give light, where there is sadness let me give joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may try not tobe comforted but to comfort, not to be understood but to understand, not to beloved but to love. Help usto welcome you as the truth of our lives, so that we shall be light to the world.117. Lord, in this moment of stillness at the beginning of the day may we feel your lovingpresence and may it remain with us all day. May we appreciate the moments ofstillness in our week as an opportunity to be close to you and grow in understandingof what is most precious in life. Amen.Page 20Page 13
