Activities
1. Exploring the possibility of adding more contraceptives/ emergency
contraceptives
2. Identifying underserved groups (BPL/SC) and develops innovative approaches for
reaching FP services.
3. All ANMs to be trained in Cu T insertion and this to be made available at all UHCs
4. Link workers to be made depot holders for condoms. Expansion of services
through social marketing initiated through collaboration with social marketing
organization.
5. Social marketing strategies to be used in collaboration with SACS.
6. Feasilibility of making ATMS of selective banks to be made depots for condoms to
be explored.
7. Regular BCC campaigns to increase demand for FP services
8. General hospital-16 to offer sterilization services round the year
9. All 2nd tier institutions to offer sterilization on at least three days per week.
10. Accreditation of private practitioners to offer FP services
11. Male participation in fertility control and provisions of non-scalpel vasectomy.
Adolescent Health
Objectives
1. Improve reproductive health and nutrition of adolescents especially those who
are married or are out of school
Strategies
1. Ensure that reproductive health and nutrition needs of adolescents are met.
2. To strengthen school health services
Activities
1. Adolescent health counseling services for out of school and married adolescents
through NGOs, Professional bodies (IPHA,IAP, FOGSI) or other self help groups.
2. Adolescent hotline, (hospital and 2nd tier institution based, website, newspaper
columns)
3. To start district partnership for adolescent health through the health deptt.
education, social welfare, ICDS, NGOs and local chapters of IPHA, IAP, FOGSI.
4. To strengthen school health programme clinical psychologist (1), dental hygienist
(1), ophthalmic assistant (1) will be provided.
5. Training of teachers regarding school health services for promotion of activities
related to school health.
