Further, in order to popularize and propagate the benefits of Ayurvedic and
Homoeopathic system of medicines to the general public of the City Beautiful and
the surrounding rural population, there is a need to establish Ayurvedic and
Homoeopathic facilities in the existing allopathic centers/dispensaries. In this
connection a meeting was held in the UT Guest House with the representative of
the Govt. of India and it has been decided that the AYUSH centers may be
opened in the existing allopathic centers. Accordingly, Director (AYUSH)
alongwith Deputy Director (Ayurvda) visited the various Allopathic dispensaries
and it has been decided that the Ayush Centre may be opened in the following
Allopathic dispensaries:-
1. Civil Dispensary, Secto-19, Chandigarh.
2. Civil Dispensary, Secto-20, Chandigarh.
3. Civil Dispensary, Secto-35, Chandigarh.
4. Civil Dispensary, Secto-42, Chandigarh.
5. Civil Dispensary, Secto-23, Chandigarh.
6. Civil Dispensary, Secto-8, Chandigarh.
7. Civil Dispensary, Secto-45, Chandigarh.
8. Civil Dispensary, Dhanas, Chandigarh.
9. Civil Dispensary, CHC-Secto-22, Chandigarh.
10. Civil Dispensary, CHC-Manimajra, Chandigarh.
In nutshell the broad objectives of the project will be as under:-
� Promotion of Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic system of medicine and cost
effective treatment to community.
� Dispelling wrong notions and giving accurate information about Ayurvedic
and Homoeopathic System of Medicines.
� Educating people about prevention of various life style related ailments
through Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic Principles.
(C) Project Proposal
In order to meet the above said objectives, it is proposed:-
(1) Opening of Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic Centers in the following exiting
allopathic dispensaries/institutions:-
So far as CHC, Sector 22, Chandigarh is concerned, we have already reallocated
one of our Ayurvedic dispensaries in the said centre and in the
CHC, Manimajra we have already re-allocated one of our Homoeopathic
Dispensary in the said centre and this scheme is required to be
forwarded/continued for the next PIP for the year 2008-2009. In addition to
above, the AYUSH dispensaries are required to be opened in the following
existing allopathic dispensaries for the year 2008-2009.

(iii) Civil Dispensary, Secto-35, Chandigarh.
(iv) Civil Dispensary, Secto-42, Chandigarh.

(x) Civil Dispensary, CHC-Manimajra, Chandigarh.
(D) Services to be provided
(i) At Ayurvedic Wing/Homoeopathic Wings proposed to be setup in allopathic
centers/dispensaries.
Under the supervision of qualified and experienced Ayurvedic/Homoeopathic
physicians the proper treatment of various life style diseases and health
promotive and preventive aspects on Ayurvedic principles will be provided.
