Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Recollections and remembrances

PROMISE FULFILLEDMohammed Hassan SoddarDuring start of 1970 election campaign Shaheed Bhutto addressed a hugegathering at Warah Taluka district Larkana standing on a bullock cart. After thishe visited the village School where crowds had gathered to greet hire. BhuttoSahib refused to sit saying until the people remained unseated he would not sit.In an emotional tone, he said although India was a strong nation, for Zulfikar AliBhutto its strength was nothing and India was afraid of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Thiswas while Indira Ghandhi was Prime Minister of India. Being overwhelmed bythe affection of the villagers he said that he will fulfill all promises made to them.In 1973 after he had come into power the villagers telegrammed him at Islamabadfor fulfilling their demands. Bhutto Sahib instructed S.P. Mohammad Pinyal thathe would shortly be visiting Larkana and the Soddars should come to meet him.On his arrival Bhutto Sahib met the Soddars and listened to then for half an hour.He gave them a patient hearing and asked the three representatives what theyrequired. The demands were; 10 jobs of higher grades, 100 acres agricultural landand increase in water supply of Warah distributory. All our demands were metand until today our villagers are prosperous due to the munificence of BhuttoSahib whose faithful followers we would always remain.
