PROMISE FULFILLEDMohammed Hassan SoddarDuring start of 1970 election campaign Shaheed <strong>Bhutto</strong> addressed a hugegathering at Warah Taluka district Larkana st<strong>and</strong>ing on a bullock cart. After thishe visited the village School where crowds had gathered to greet hire. <strong>Bhutto</strong>Sahib refused to sit saying until the people remained unseated he would not sit.In an emotional tone, he said although India was a strong nation, for <strong>Zulfikar</strong> <strong>Ali</strong><strong>Bhutto</strong> its strength was nothing <strong>and</strong> India was afraid of <strong>Zulfikar</strong> <strong>Ali</strong> <strong>Bhutto</strong>. Thiswas while Indira Gh<strong>and</strong>hi was Prime Minister of India. Being overwhelmed bythe affection of the villagers he said that he will fulfill all promises made to them.In 1973 after he had come into power the villagers telegrammed him at Islamabadfor fulfilling their dem<strong>and</strong>s. <strong>Bhutto</strong> Sahib instructed S.P. Mohammad Pinyal thathe would shortly be visiting Larkana <strong>and</strong> the Soddars should come to meet him.On his arrival <strong>Bhutto</strong> Sahib met the Soddars <strong>and</strong> listened to then for half an hour.He gave them a patient hearing <strong>and</strong> asked the three representatives what theyrequired. The dem<strong>and</strong>s were; 10 jobs of higher grades, 100 acres agricultural l<strong>and</strong><strong>and</strong> increase in water supply of Warah distributory. All our dem<strong>and</strong>s were met<strong>and</strong> until today our villagers are prosperous due to the munificence of <strong>Bhutto</strong>Sahib whose faithful followers we would always remain.
