This district will be an integral part <strong>of</strong> the overall village and willserve to anchor the northern gateway to the existing village core and historic Main Street area. Assuch, new development shall address the need for uses, public spaces, and design elements thatcomplement the wider village area and provide a draw to the overall <strong>Hinesburg</strong> community.As a mixed use district, and to achieve the vision outlined above, mixed residential/non-residentialdevelopments are strongly encouraged, especially as planned unit developments (PUD). Mixedresidential/non-residential PUDs shall meet the following standards to help assure that residentialuses do not exclude non-residential uses:! <strong>The</strong> non-residential space in a PUD shall either be constructed first or concurrently with the- Page 21 -
