<strong>McLeod</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Chronicle</strong>, March 20, 2013 HORIZON Page 11Although new homes are rare, localproperty owners still pulling permitsBy Rich GlennieEditorIf new single-home construction isany indication of the housing marketand its recovery from the “Great Recession,”tough times are not over in theGlencoe area.In 2012, two building permits werepulled for new single-family homes andnone were pulled for townhouses or twinhomes, according to building permit statisticsfrom the city of Glencoe.<strong>The</strong> valuation of the two new homeswas $433,581.Since 2008, only 13 new homes havebeen built in Glencoe.
