Schule ohne Homophobie – Schule der VielfaltUmgang mit und Akzeptanz von Eltern bzgl. des Lebensstils des KindesFach:EnglischStufe:ab Klasse 9Zeit:1 - 2 SchulstundenSchlagworte:Akzeptanz, Vielfalt, Selbstverwirklichung, Erziehung, Familie, ElternÜberblick über den Inhalt:Bei dem Lied “Everything Possible” von der amerikanischen, schwulen Gruppe ‚TheFlirtations’ handelt es sich um ein Schlaflied, das einem Kind von einem Elternteilvorgesungen wird. In dem Lied wird dem Kind bedingungslose Liebe und Unterstützung derEltern zugesagt, selbst oder gerade wenn das Kind nicht dem gesellschaftlichenRollenstereotyp entspricht und beispielsweise homosexuell ist. Die Schülerinnen undSchüler erhalten Einblick in die Möglichkeiten alternativer Lebensformen undVerhaltensweisen. Sie können erkennen, dass Toleranz und Wertschätzung allen Menschengrößere Freiräume zur Selbstentfaltung gibt. (Das Lied kann auch als Gedicht gelesenwerden.)Ziele:Durch das Hören des Liedes bzw. Lesen des Textes "Everything Possible" können sich dieSchülerinnen und Schüler mit Werten innerhalb der Familie auseinandersetzen. In dem Lieddrücken Eltern gegenüber ihrem Kind bedingungslose Akzeptanz aus. Es wird angesprochen,dass es eine Vielzahl an Möglichkeiten zu leben, auch. mit einem / einergleichgeschlechtlichen Partner oder Partnerin, gibt. Fragen zum Verständnisa) What does the parent allow the child to be or to do? (s. Strophe 2)b) How will a parent judge a child? (Strophe 2)c) How do some boys and girls behave as they are growing up? (Strophe 3)d) Are the pictures of children growing up typical examples of “girls and boys” behaviour?What are the typical pictures?e) What are you –according to the song- supposed to do/not supposed to do as a childgrowing up? Folgende Fragen können diskutiert werden:a) Do you think the behaviour of the parents is ideal? Would you want your parents to act insuch a way? Would you want to give your children this kind of freedom? Can you imagine howthis song could have a message for people who are neither parents, nor children?b) No one sang the song to the singer. Why? What do you think the childhood of the singerwas like? c) This song was written by the Flirtations, a group of gay men. Does the fact thatthe writers of the song are gay matter? Does it change the message? Which values does thissong convey? Which values are the basis for the way these parents raise their child? Whichvalues are important in your family and for you personally? The parents tell their child toseek their own way and assure the child that they will be supportive. But are traditions notimportant? Are traditions important for you and in your own family?
