Renewing your Security Worker LicenceNotice to holders of expired security worker licences ...you must follow thenew application process — renewal applications are not accepted for expired licences.When it is Renewal Time. . .A renewal reminder will be mailed to the last address we have on file for you two months prior to theexpiry date of your current licence.• If you are renewing using a hard copy of the form (the manual process), when you complete andsubmit your renewal application package be sure to allow postal time and processing time. Youmay apply for renewal as early as 60 days prior to the expiry date. It is recommended that youapply for renewal as soon as you can in advance of the expiry date for two reasons:• If you wait too close to the expiry date, your licence may expire while in the mail — if it does,you will have to re-apply as a NEW licensee.• It takes a few days to process your application then mail your licence to you. Underlegislation, it is mandatory that you are in possession of a valid, current licence at all timeswhile performing security services.Renewal Application – (#SPD0505)PART 1, FEES AND TERMS:See page 7 for the Terms & Fee Schedules.PART 2, APPLICATION DETAILS:Licence Type: You may apply for more than one licence type, but you will have to prove you arequalified for the types you wish to be licensed for. You will receive one licence that will list thesecurity services the Registrar has approved you to provide.Note: licence type “Security Guard under supervision” is not listed on this form as an option. If youhave never held a Security Guard under supervision licence type before, but you wish to now, applyusing form Application for 90-day Security Guard Licence (#SPD0520) and submit it along with yourRENEWAL form. You may not renew a Security Guard under supervision licence.Dogs and Use of Restraints: There are two questions. Only respond by checking ‘yes’ if needapproval from the Registrar to use dogs and/or restraints.
