SECURITY ALARM RESPONSEResponds to and monitors security alarms installed on the property of another person. (Includes licence typeSecurity Alarm Monitoring and Response.) SECURITY ALARM SALESSells or gives advice on security alarms. NOTE: a person who sells security alarms but does not attendthe premises where the security alarm has been or will be installed, does not require a licence under theSecurity Services Act.SECURITY CONSULTANTA person who advises on methods of protecting property from vandalism, intrusion, trespass or theft;or provides the services of detecting electromagnetic, acoustical or other devices by which privatecommunications or records may be intercepted, transmitted or examined.SECURITY GUARD INCLUDES IN-HOUSE SECURITY GUARDS (PERSONS EMPLOYED BY A BUSINESS THAT DOESNOT HOLD A security business licence such as a hospital, retail store or a university), loss prevention workers, bodyguardsand door persons at establishments licensed under the Liquor Control and Licensing Act.Provides or supervises a guard patrol or watch of property; provides or supervises a guard of anindividual; performs services to prevent the loss of property; and/or provides door security at anestablishment licensed under the Liquor Control and Licensing Act. Security Guards can also respond andmonitor alarms installed on the property of another person.SECURITY GUARD UNDER SUPERVISION SEPARATE, 90-DAY LICENCE THAT MAY ONLY BE HELD ONCE.Performs the work of a security guard only under the supervision of a fully licensed Security Guard.What your licence will look like and how your approved licencetype(s) will appearAlthough there are 15 types of security services that require licensing, some of them are ‘inclusive’.
