The main goal is to promote a historicaland intellectual debate among experts in order to bring to light the fact that slavery was an issueduring Ottoman rule. Moreover, the association draws attention to the fact that Afro-Turks existin Turkey by launching photo exhibitions. Since the Afro-Turk communities live in small villagesin the Aegean region, many Turks are not even aware of their existence in the country.8.
