University, marking the fi rst time since 1997 Unionhas defeated Lambuth.Lambuth (0-2 overall) took the early lead, marching 87 yards in 10plays to grab a 7-0 lead. Marquis Williams scored on a 27-yard runwith 7:02 remaining in the fi rst.Union (1-0 overall) struck twice in the second quarter en route toa 14-7 halftime lead. At the 9:06 mark, Mike Brinkley (Anthony, Fla.)hit Kyle Callahan (Covington, Ky.) for a 17-yard touchdown pass totie the game at 7-7. After a Lambuth fumble, the Bulldogs found theend zone in no time. University 23-13 Saturday.Pollock’s (Orange Park, Fla.) fi rst carry of the day was one for thehighlight reel as he galloped 97 yards for a touchdown on Union’sfi rst play from scrimmage. After the PAT, Union led 7-0 with 10:02remaining in the fi rst.The 97-yard run is the longest run in Pollock’s career. Prior to thisseason, Pollock had not had a run longer than 26 yards. Howver, hehad a 33-yard run in the win at Lambuth (Tenn.) Universty on Sept.6 and now a 97-yard gallop.Pollock’s long sprint is close to the longest run in Bulldog history,but Dayna Overton had 99-yard touchdown run against Tiffi n (Ohio)University in 1998.The junior running back fi nished the day with 198 yards on 20carries, just 16 yards shy of James Fletcher’s single-game record of214, which he set against Tennessee Wesleyan College in 1985.As a team, Union rushed for 334 yards.
