Poster PresentationsThe Department of Medical Illustrations in the School of Medicine is authorized to use <strong>UNC</strong> <strong>Health</strong> <strong>Care</strong>trademark adaptations on academic poster presentations for faculty and students. For details, contactMedical Illustrations at 966-4232.PublicationsUse symbol in publications targeted to the general public or largely external audience. This is notnecessary in publications for alumni, faculty, students or donors.Make every effort to ensure placement of trademark blends with other design elements.SignageDue to policies and standards of individual property owners, incorporating the trademark on buildings ordirectional signage must be approached on a case-by-case basis. Every effort should be made to use theblack and PMS 543 trademark on a white background. When this is not feasible, please consult with thePublic Affairs & Marketing office about the use of a one-color or black with 40% screen trademark.SlidesSpecial adaptations of the <strong>UNC</strong> Logotype and Operating Units have been developed for use as “bugs”onPowerpoint and other types of slide presentations. They are designed to appear in the lower right-handcorner of the slide 1”from either edge. These marks may not be altered or used for purposes other thanslide presentations. Unit Brands may not be incorporated. Call Public Affairs & Marketing for information.Specialty ItemsSome specialty items cannot be processed with screens or two-color printing. In these special instances, aone-color logo is available.StationeryBy policy, <strong>UNC</strong> Hospitals uses one standard letterhead (Template A). Stationery, second sheets andenvelopes may be ordered from the <strong>UNC</strong> Hospitals storeroom.Other authorized <strong>Health</strong> Affairs units may customize letterhead according to the templates in Appendix II.Whether printed or generated electronically, stationery must follow template guidelines.VehiclesCertain medical center vehicles such as ambulances, trucks, vans, and shuttle buses are identified byspecial paint schemes or standard decals applied on the vehicles.Vehicle identification is designed throughthe Public Affairs & Marketing office, and is applied and maintained through the Plant Operationsdepartment. Trademarks appearing on vehicles must include the symbol.World Wide WebTrademarks posted on the Web must include the symbol. The trademark should appear in black andPMS 543 on a white or beige background, and cannot move, pulse, flash or in any way be electronicallyaltered. The Public Affairs & Marketing office must be notified of all postings.
