Testing the system.3.1 Unpacking the AnalyzerAlthough the Analyzer is shipped with all the materials you need toinstall and prepare the system for operation. Carefully unpack theAnalyzer and inspect it for damage. Immediately report any damage orshortages to the shipping agent.3.2 Mounting the AnalyzerThe Series <strong>4040</strong> is a general-purpose <strong>analyzer</strong> and as such isdesigned with (non-sealed) enclosures. It must be installed in an areawhere the ambient temperature is not permitted to drop below 32ºF norrise above 100ºF. In areas outside these temperatures, auxiliaryheating/cooling must be supplied. The <strong>4040</strong> enclosure is oil and dustresistant and although it is designed to resist moisture, it should NOT beconsidered completely watertight. Mounting to walls or racks must bemade securely. Avoid locations that are subject to extreme vibration andsway.Sufficient space must be provided around the <strong>analyzer</strong> toaccommodate the necessary electrical conduit and plumbing connections.The front panel must be allowed to be pulled out for possible serviceaccess to all components of the enclosure. Refer to the system/<strong>analyzer</strong>outline drawings for dimensions.Note: To completely slide the Analyzer out of the enclosure, pullAnalyzer out until it stops, and then push down on the releaselevers found almost at the end of the sliders, both sides at thesame time.<strong>Teledyne</strong> <strong>Analytical</strong> Instruments 25
