Annex 2: Description of analysed cases1. EUD-IT, pedagogical IT driver’s licence for vocational teachers, DenmarkIn 2001, the Ministry of Education launched a new strategy for education and IT. In the newstrategy, focus shifts from hardware and developing e-networks to educational content,knowledge sharing and developing IT competences. The strategy focuses on how teaching,learning and IT can be combined fruitfully to exploit the vast opportunities offered by IT.The aim of EUD-IT is to qualify teachers in use of IT-tools within the following areas:• educational planning;• developing teaching materials;• using electronic media in teaching;• developing flexible and individualised learning activities;• cooperation and team work.The course consists of eight modules that have to be completed and approved by the coach inorder to acquire the EUD-IT driver’s licence. The first module is a compulsory introductionmodule. Hereafter the teachers can choose among 13 modules:• text writing and IT;• developing teaching material;• project work and IT;• using presentations in teaching;• digital pictures;• collecting and presenting data;• using own websites in teaching;• statistics and analysis – collecting and processing data;• using simulation models in teaching;• multimedia;• flexible learning with IT;• language teaching and IT;• working with the electronic education plan (Elevplan).Each module consists of literature dealing with central issues, assignments, guidelines forusing software and library of supplementary texts. Teachers develop their IT and educationalskills with a specific view on integrating IT as a natural element of everyday teaching as well47
