Annex 2: Description <strong>of</strong> analysed cases1. EUD-IT, pedagogical IT driver’s licence <strong>for</strong> vocational <strong>teachers</strong>, DenmarkIn 2001, <strong>the</strong> Ministry <strong>of</strong> Education launched a new strategy <strong>for</strong> education and IT. In <strong>the</strong> newstrategy, focus shifts from hardware and developing e-networks to educational content,knowledge sharing and developing IT competences. The strategy focuses on how teaching,learning and IT can be combined fruitfully to exploit <strong>the</strong> vast opportunities <strong>of</strong>fered by IT.The aim <strong>of</strong> EUD-IT is to qualify <strong>teachers</strong> in use <strong>of</strong> IT-tools within <strong>the</strong> following areas:• educational planning;• developing teaching materials;• using electronic media in teaching;• developing flexible and individualised learning activities;• cooperation and team work.The course consists <strong>of</strong> eight modules that have to be completed and approved by <strong>the</strong> coach inorder to acquire <strong>the</strong> EUD-IT driver’s licence. The first module is a compulsory introductionmodule. Hereafter <strong>the</strong> <strong>teachers</strong> can choose among 13 modules:• text writing and IT;• developing teaching material;• project work and IT;• using presentations in teaching;• digital pictures;• collecting and presenting data;• using own websites in teaching;• statistics and analysis <strong>–</strong> collecting and processing data;• using simulation models in teaching;• multimedia;• flexible learning with IT;• language teaching and IT;• working with <strong>the</strong> electronic education plan (Elevplan).Each module consists <strong>of</strong> literature dealing with central issues, assignments, guidelines <strong>for</strong>using s<strong>of</strong>tware and library <strong>of</strong> supplementary texts. Teachers develop <strong>the</strong>ir IT and educationalskills with a specific view on integrating IT as a natural element <strong>of</strong> everyday teaching as well47
