They offer massagetherapy, fitness training, colon hydrotherapy, acupuncture,internal cleanses and natural health products.Their team of six Registered Massage Therapists areprofessionals who have completed a post-secondaryprogram and have extensive experience in assessingand treating individuals with a wide range of musculoskeletalconditions – acute, sub-acute and chronic.They can treat headaches, migraines, whiplash, motorvehicle injuries, low back pain, neck pain, TMJ dysfunctionand more."Our therapists offer a variety of specialized massagetechniques designed to help clientele with specificconditions," says Jim. "Our services include neuromusculartherapy, myofascial therapy, craniosacraltherapy, osteopathy and massage for pregnancy andlabour support."Synergystix now offers Low Intensity LaserTreatments (LILT) that stimulates tissue to repair -including muscle, tendon, skin lesions and incisions.It also promotes healing by reducing both pain andinflammation."Clients come in and fill out a health history, so thatwe can assess their condition, work out a treatmentplan, and if it’s a fit with massage we can help, otherwise,we refer them to another health practitioner,"says Jim. Any length of massage can be arranged,from 20 minutes to 1/1/2 hours.Fitness Consultant Nancy Smyth has been operatingSynergystix Fitness for about 15 years. A certifiedpersonal fitness trainer, she is accredited with theCanadian Professional Training Network, as well asthe Ontario Society of Health and Fitness.The facility has a variety of free weights and exerciseequipment, with programs geared to the individual."Our staff of personal trainers and assistants designpersonalized programs for our clients," says Nancy."Each person has different issues, whether it’s relatedto their lifestyle, a sports injury, or a problem resultingfrom cumulative activity over time. We stay with themand monitor them through their workouts."Goals may be to increase muscular strength or flexibility,improve bone density or cardiovascular capacity.A fitness assessment is done, then a workoutsheet is made up. The facility can accommodate eightor nine people at a time.Trainers work at the facility, or can travel out to theclient’s home or workplace.
