Budget constraints have forced thesuspension of footpath construction for the term of the Delivery Program.<strong>Council</strong> Programs that contribute to achieving this Objective:210 LAND USE PLANNING 310 PROPERTY & COMMERCIAL SERVICES320 LEASING & ASSET MANAGEMENT 522 RECREATIONAL SERVICES539 PARKING 543 STREET & TOILET CLEANING547 HARBOUR & JETTY CPS CARAVAN PARKS & STATE PARKOBJECTIVE: PL2. 2 We have facilities for our youth, elderly, Aboriginal and disadvantaged where they can meet and have fun.OBJECTIVE MEASURE: Incorporating the results from <strong>Council</strong>’s implementation of strategies during the period, assess the provision andeffectiveness of social facilities for young, elderly, Aboriginal and disadvantaged people.In its role as provider and facilitator, <strong>Council</strong> has contributed to ensure there is a range of opportunities as well as providing indoor and outdoorfacilities for all residents to meet and participate in enjoyable activities. Through the development and operations of community and recreationalprograms and facilities in particular there is a demonstrable and ongoing commitment to ensuring accessibility to those who experience anyforms of disadvantage. The levels of use by community groups and the growth in membership of many groups point to an upward trend invarious sectors of the community having access to appropriate facilities.<strong>Council</strong> Programs that contribute to achieving this Objective:210 LAND USE PLANNING 230 ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT 516 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENTOBJECTIVE: PL2. 3 We have urban spaces which are child friendly.OBJECTIVE MEASURE: Incorporating the results from <strong>Council</strong>’s implementation of strategies during the period, assess the provision of childfriendlyurban spaces.CHCC is a provider and advocate for the provision of child friendly urban spaces. <strong>Council</strong> has identified children as a specific target group withinthe Open Space Strategy.A new children’s play space was completed within the Regional Park at Diggers Beach.
