Lookingat the distribution of business types alongthe corridor reveals existing patterns ofactivities. For instance, the blocks atthe northern end of the corridor havean abundance of personal services businesses,while retail products and eatingand drinking businesses are predominanttowards the south end. The blocks in thecenter of the corridor have the most diversemix of business types. The densityof businesses along Divisadero is greatestbetween Page Street at the southern endand McAllister at the northern end.Most of the businesses along the Divisaderocorridor are small enterprises. Thereare very few major “anchor” businessesother than the gas stations and car washat the auto node around the Oak and Fellsteets intersections. The Indpendent isalso an anchor on Divisadero as it attractslarge numbers of patrons for almost nightlyentertainment events.There are only a couple of major retailchain store businesses along this sectionof Divisadero.
