Major employmentnodes in the area are also shown as these are sources of daytimeworkers who may patronize nearby commercial services as wellas the local residents. This mapping of retail supply in the areashows how the local-serving market area of Lower Divisaderocommercial corridor is bracketed by significant retail opportunitiesalong Filmore to the east, along the general Masonic corridorto the west, Upper Divisadero to the north, and the Haightdistricts and Upper Market to the south.Statistics compiled from the City’s business database by neighborhoodplanning district are provided in the appendix LowerDivisadero Market Area Businesses Inventory. Within the marketarea there are approximately 1,700 retail businesses, 4,400businesses providing various services, and 1,600 businesses inthe finance, insurance and real estate sectors.
