DEFINITION<br />
MISSIONARY (Evangelist, Seventy, Apostle)<br />
The special ability to minister whatever o<strong>the</strong>r spiritual gifts <strong>the</strong>y have in a second culture.<br />
1. Sent from, sent to, called to, ordered, commissioned, invited, out <strong>of</strong> his original homeland or<br />
culture<br />
2. Willingness to live within <strong>the</strong> patterns <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> culture to which he is sent, so that people might see<br />
that <strong>the</strong>y can come to Christ without leaving <strong>the</strong>ir own people.<br />
CHARACTERISTICS<br />
1. Ability to serve in ano<strong>the</strong>r culture.<br />
2. Exhibits patience, self-denial, humility.<br />
3. Coupled with o<strong>the</strong>r gifts such as teaching, evangelism, exhortation, celibacy.<br />
4. Live, function & interact in ano<strong>the</strong>r culture without any special training.<br />
5. Go through a 2 nd process <strong>of</strong> socialization called “acculturation.”<br />
6. Enjoy challenge <strong>of</strong> ano<strong>the</strong>r culture/language.<br />
7. Less than 1% have this gift in a different culture.<br />
8. E-3 Evangelism.<br />
