DEFINITION<br />
VOLUNTARY POVERTY<br />
The special ability to renounce material comfort and luxury and adopt a personal life-style equivalent to<br />
those living at <strong>the</strong> poverty level in a given society in order to serve God more effectively.<br />
CHARACTERISTICS<br />
1. Able to live simply with less comfort and luxury without complaint.<br />
2. Are satisfied with very little goods and means.<br />
3. Willing to sacrifice all material things.<br />
4. Probably also have gifts <strong>of</strong> giving.<br />
