Parkway Laboratory Services (“PLS” or “the Company”) isone of the largest privately owned laboratory serviceproviders in Singapore. It is a clinical laboratory licensedby the Singapore Ministry of Health under the PrivateHospitals & Medical Clinics (Amendment) Act 1999 andRegulations and audited by the Medical Audit & AccreditationUnit (MAAU). In 1994, operating under the name ofMount Elizabeth Healthcare Services Pte Ltd, it was thefirst medical laboratory in the Asia Pacific to achieveBVQI ISO 9002 Quality Certification.The PLS BackgroundThe Company first expanded in 1991into a comprehensive diagnosticlaboratory serving the needs of theinpatients and outpatients of MountElizabeth Hospital and East ShoreHospital as well as patients referredto it by the specialists operating bothwithin and outside of the medicalcentres annexed to the hospitals.In 1995, the Company was acquiredby Parkway Holdings Limited(“Parkway Group”).Today, PLS has a network of laboratories located onthe premises of East Shore Hospital, Gleneagles Hospitaland Mount Elizabeth Hospital, the three privatehospitals owned by the Parkway Group as well as areference laboratory in Henderson Industrial Parkwhich also serves as its headquarters.
