The datalogger samples continuously, so thedata stream must be broken into intervals tobe recorded. The datalogging interval definesthe frequency of the breaks in the datastream. The interval may be set anywherebetween one second and one hour by usingthe navigation arrows as detailed below. Thedefault datalogging interval is 1 minute. At aone-minute interval, the PHD6 will log aminimum of 63 hours of data before theoldest data is overwritten by newer data.Sessions (view datalogger sessiondata including date, time, interval, temperature and sensor minimum andmaximum readings)Clear Datalog (clears all informationfrom the datalogger)Select User (User name will be savedin the session data)Users’ names must be entered in BioTrak IIto appear in the user list.Select Location (Location name willbe saved in the session data)Location names must be entered inBioTrak II to appear in the location list.User on Startup (enable or disable aprompt to select user and location at startup)User and location names must be enteredinto the instrument via BioTrak II before thisoption can be enabled.6. MaintenanceTo prevent ignition offlammable or combustible atmospheres, disconnect power before servicing any partsin the PHD6.6.1 BatteriesThe PHD6 is powered byinterchangeable alkalineand Li-Ion rechargeablebattery packs. To remove the battery packfirst loosen the top centerscrew on the back of theinstrument, then gently pullthe top of the battery awayfrom the instrument. The battery is hinged frombelow. Remove the battery once the top clearsthe upper housing by pulling up and away.CAUTION Always turn the PHD6 off prior toremoving the battery pack. Removal of thebattery pack with the instrument turned onmay cause corruption of stored data in thePHD6.Note: Center screw on ATEX / Europeanversion may be slightly different.6.2 Replacing alkaline batteriesThe alkaline battery pack contains three AAalkaline batteries. The PHD6 must be located ina non-hazardous location whenever alkalinebatteries are removed from the alkaline batterypack. Removal of the alkaline batteries from thebattery pack in a hazardous area may impairintrinsic safety.Use only Duracell MN1500or Ultra MX1500, Eveready Energizer E91-LR6,Eveready EN91 batteries. Substitution ofbatteries may impair intrinsic safety.26
