When he cameof age Edward James began investing his moneyand time in supporting artists, craftspeople,dancers and poets and his passion for the artsbrought him into contact with many leadingartists of the time including LeonoraCarrington, Remedios Varo, Salvador Dalí and René Magritte.In 1964 he created a charitable trust, the Edward JamesFoundation, to fulfil his desire to nurture music, traditional craftsand the visual arts.
