A portion of the former inventorylines of each compartment will serve as permanent inventory lines, and will be repeatedlysampled every 5 years. An important benefit of continuously updating inventory data inthis manner is that it will not be necessary to carry out a major inventory for the entireFMU for every new planning period. Table 8.1 provides a schedule for the re-enumerationof selected compartments for the 10-year planning period. If large discrepancies arefound between actual and projected development of the growing stock, adjustments canbe made with regard to harvest scheduling and the AAC.66
