CommissionerMark Weissman was appointed to the Deputy ViceMayor position. <strong>The</strong> deputy vice mayor runs the city commissionmeetings if the mayor and vice mayor cannot.school, or being home-schooledwithin the city of Parkland municipallimits, may be nominated in thefall of each year by teachers, counselors,friends, clergy, or family (butnot by their parents or the studenthimself/herself ). <strong>The</strong> nominationsprocess is publicized through areamedia, all schools, the ParklandLibrary and a variety of youth andcommunity organizations.Applications are available on thecity’s website and must be receivedby Dec. 3.
