BlackIS BACKhilariouslygrumpycomedianreturns tobrowardBY TODD MCFLIKERLewis Black, the multi-faceted comedian, actor and author, will take the stage at HardRock Live at the Seminole Hard RockHotel & Casino on Thursday, December 30 at 8p.m. Using feverish outbursts and sly mockery, theangry 62-year-old entertainer will vividly conveyhis witty observations and social commentary toaudience members of all ages. Topics to be discussedinclude our nation’s politics, military antics, religion and more amusing topics that Americanshave to deal with on a daily basis.“When you compare Christmas to Chanukah, there’s no comparison,” Black explained onComedy Central. “Christmas is great. Chanukahsucks! First night, you get socks. Second night, aneraser, a notebook. It’s a back-to-school holiday!”After spending decades touring clubs aroundthe nation, he earned a three-minute weekly segmenton Comedy Central’s The Daily Show in1996. His performances at Carnegie Hall in2006 were recorded for a live comedy album, which earned him a Grammy Award for BestComedy Album.Listeners appreciate his lessons and complaintson just about everything, from the President toiPhones’ technology. It is entertaining to hearLewis say what can be learned from George W.Bush and his term in office.“In my lifetime, we’ve gone from Eisenhowerto George W. Bush,” Black explained on ComedyCentral. “We’ve gone from John Kennedy toAlbert Gore. Now if that is evolution, I believethat in about twelve years, we’re gonna be votingfor plants.”Black has written two hugely successful books, the eccentric Nothing’s Sacred in 2005 and theclever Me of Little Faith in 2008. Both books, which appeared on the New York Times’ BestSeller list, earned him critical praise, on top ofcommercial success.
